Patti Jane has a family law and general civil law practice. She handles divorces, post-divorce, custody, alimony and child support cases as well as juvenile court litigation . She has served as conservator and fiduciary for disabled veterans and handled probate matters for estates. She has been a mediator in family and general civil cases since 1995 . She has had extensive experience sitting as Special Master in over 1000 order of protection cases in Knox County Fourth Circuit Court.

BIOGRAPHY
A native of Knoxville, Patti Jane has practiced law in Knoxville since 1979. She is an honors graduate of Emory University and the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. Lay has extensive experience working with families in the judicial system in both Circuit and Juvenile Courts and at the appellate level. Patti Jane is active in a number of organizations, including the Knoxville Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association and ETLAW. She has three children and is married to Tom Baugh who is also an attorney. Her son, John Baugh, is an attorney practicing with her at Lay & Baugh Law.
